from my own teaching experince and from discussions and teaching many hundreds of teach thousands of teacher education students,there emerge common threads of understanding and skill that good techers weave into an effective personal style of teaching.Assesss your own knowladgea and values in terms of your thoghhts about the following :
Good teacher
• are good explaining things
• keep their cool
• have a sense of humor
• like people.especialy students in the age range in which they in teach
• are inherently fair-minded
• have"common sense"
• have a command of the content they teach
• set high expetations for their students and hold the students to those expectations
• are detail oriented
• are good managers of time
• can lead or follow,as the situations demands
• don't take things for granted
• have some "hard bark" on them
All of these define some of the characteristic of good teacher
